چکیده
IntroLinezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic, was introduced early in 2000 as a new therapeutic option against gram positive cocci including vancomycin resistant enterococci (VRE). People are using linezolid alternative VRE due to which resistance is increasing rapidly leading failure of VRE. So the aims and objectives present study determine prevalence linezolid-resistant (LRVRE) clinical isolates.MethodsStudy performed from 1st January 2021 31st July 2022 Max super speciality hospital, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi, India. Total 961 isolates urine, blood pus samples were included. Identification sensitivity conducted by vitek-2 compact automated system interpreted according laboratory standards institute guidelines.FindingsTable 1: Sensitivity pattern among isolatesDiscussionOut total 136 (14%) LRVRE. Prevalence LRVRE 116 (13%), 15 (25%) 5 (13%) respectively. higher isolates.ConclusionPrevalence it very alarming condition. Several factors contributing antibiotic have been described prolonged exposure antibiotics most striking. Therapeutic options limited for treatment Worldwide surveillance judicious use required. In May 2004 our institution encountered its first clinical isolate of linezolid-resistant, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (LRVRE). Between October 2004 and July 2005, 40 patients from whom LRVRE organisms were recovered in clinical specimens were characterized. Epidemiologic investigation and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis patterns indicated a clonal outbreak related to nosocomial ...

The oxazolidinone antimicrobial, linezolid, has been approved for the treatment of infections caused by various gram-positive bacteria, including vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE). This is the first report on isolation of a linezolid resistant, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (LRVREF) strain in Poland, from a Haematological Unit patient in the Clinical Hospital in Gdańsk. PCR-RFL...

Background & Objectives: Isolation of vancomycin resistant Enterococcus from clinical samples is very important. The aim of this study was evaluation of phenotype and genotype of van genes in vancomycine resistant Enterococcus. Materials and Methods: 411 Enterococcus isolates were collected from selected Tehran’s hospitals between March 2004 and December 2007. The enterococcal isolates were ide...
متن کاملVancomycin Resistant Enterococcus (VRE): Prevalence and Characteristics in a Tertiary Hospital In Malaysia
Introduction: Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) are undoubtedly less virulent as compared to other common pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. However the presence of VRE is a matter of concern, as VRE infections are associated with high mortality, particularly in immunocompromised patients. The resistant gene is transferable to Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (M...
